How ZUMBA was created..

One fateful day in the mid-'90s Beto Perez darted off to teach an aerobics class and forgot his traditional aerobics music. He improvised using his own mix of music from tapes he had in his backpack (salsa and merengue music he grew up with). Spontaneously he created a new kind of dance-fitness, one that focused on letting the music move you (instead of counting reps over the music). Energy electrified the room; people couldn't stop smiling. His class loved it! And on that day, a revolutionary new fitness concept was born – the Zumba® Fitness-Party.

 

ZUMBA® fitness classes are the ultimate combination of the two things I love to do - dance and work out. ZUMBA® fitness is amazing because it's a party and makes me walk out of the studio with even more energy. It's so fun and easy you don't have to know how to dance, if you know how to party then you will enjoy ZUMBA® fitness classes.

 

 

I want kids to get a taste of dance and fitness, like I did. Known as the Zumba "pool party," Aqua Zumba will have you splashing, stretching, twisting, even shouting, laughing, hooting and hollering are often heard during an Aqua Zumba class. Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines, Aqua Zumba blends it all together into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that’s cardio-conditioning, body-toning, and most of all, exhilarating beyond belief.
